Tampa/Hillsborough County 35th Annual Human Rights Award Breakfast

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted 60 years ago this week by the United Nations in 1948.

The 35th annual Tampa/Hillsborough County Human Rights Award breakfast was held in Tampa in December 2008.

Eckerd College presents humanitarians Elie Wiesel and John Prendergast in From the Holocaust to Darfur: If We Had Only Learned Our Lesson at Progress Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, Fla. (Mar. 11, 2010). Nearly 2,000 people were in attendance.

Nobel Peace Laureate Elie Wiesel has been a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Humanities at Eckerd College since 1993. Enough Project Co-founder John Prendergast was a Visiting Scholar-in-Residence at Eckerd College in March 2010.
